It is hard to believe my Luke is 7 today. Nothing can prepare you for how fast time truly flies by when you have kids! Our precious boy who started his life full of colic is now sweet, kind, and caring. We love to watch the world through his eyes!
So, to my Luke, here are some of my favorite things about you:
1) Your beautiful blue eyes
2) Your sensitive heart
3) The way that you take care of every living creature, from the roly poly (sp?) to your own pets.
4) The sincerity behind your hugs...they are sometimes hard to come by, but when you get one, you know it is truly heart-felt.
5) Your ever curious mind!
6) Your unique perspective on life...for example, the other day, you told me that if we were ever driving and a tornado came up, we should get out of our car, and find a manhole cover, and lift it and go down inside, because it would be the safest place. :)
7) Your seriousness...a wise soul.
8) Your love for soccer - its fun to watch you enjoy something so much!
9) Your patience (most of the time) with your brother.
10) Your empathy and concern for others...you look out for the "underdog" which I love.
Luke, you are a sparkle in my eye, a tug in my heart, and a reminder to me of what my Dad must have been like as a little boy. You are so much like your Poppy, and it makes me chuckle! We are so blessed to have you in our lives! Happy Birthday honey!
