I never post to my blog anymore...but I was looking back through my boys' journals (I have kept one for each of them since they were born, for them to read when they are 18) and I realized for a period of time I didn't write in either of theirs (it was a particularly hard time in our family's life). So, I decided to see if I blogged during that same period, thinking I'd print off some blog posts about them. Thankfully I did. At that point, I thought...if I'm on here, I should post! So, for those of you who don't do Facebook (I think that is about 3 people...my aunt, brother, and mom) and for those who actually still follow this blog, I shall post to close out 2011.
This has been a fabulous Christmas season. I have particularly enjoyed my family and boys, and I am not even anticipating their going back to school (or my going back to work)! Both boys are at a fun age, and I really enjoy one on one time with either of them. For Christmas, we went to my brother's at Camp Texlake. We stayed in a cabin and slept in bunk beds...so fun! It is a beautiful girl scout camp with places to hike, gorgeous surroundings, and lots of nature. The pics above are from Christmas. My parents came down too, and we all had just a nice time together.
Yesterday my boys and I helped my Dad's bible study group feed lunch at our local homeless shelter. Aidan was excited, and Luke was dreading it. Both came away thinking it wasn't so bad after all. We fed 102 people in 30 minutes. Crazy! My Dad only had one other person there with him, so our help was welcomed.
The year 2011 has been good to us. I am extremely blessed, and hope that I can return the blessings on to others. May you have a blessed 2012...whoever is reading this! :)
