Some of my students and I volunteered for a fun new cause in Wichita Falls...its called the Mane Event. Artists painted over 18 horses in various Falls/Texas commerative ways with the horses to be auctioned off to support Faith Mission (homeless shelter), Pasty's House (for abused children) and Downtown Pride. The unveiling, parade, and showcase/festival was supposed to be held outside today, however with the threat of bad weather from the Hurricane, it was moved in to the MPEC. We worked the merchandise tent, and I saw hundreds of dollars fly through selling calendars, tees, notecards, etc. I really think it is a great idea - and the horses were simply beautiful!
