Today Dail's Dad, Melvin, went to Hospice care. It is really a good thing, as they will give him the kind of care that he needs and deserves after 88 years of life. It happened very suddenly, and took us all by surprise. They discharged him from the hospital so fast - apparently Medicare only pays so many days for pneumonia and any complications that result from it, and then you're out, whether you are ready or not!
The in-patient Hospice is such a warm, comfortable place. The boys actually like it as it has a kids play area, both indoors and out. His room is much like that of a bed and breakfast actually, or nice hotel room. The meals have already been better, and after the slightly rough transition yesterday, he is settling in better today. The goal is to get him stablized so that he can return home to Archer City, with Hospice coming to the home frequently.
Please continue to keep him and all of the family in your prayers!
