Flat Stanley goes a worm gruntin'
We have now entered the world of Flat Stanley. Many friends have told me about him, but he hadn't graced our lives until recently. For those of you who are otherwise unaware - Flat Stanley is a 2D guy that your child makes at school and then mails to someone far away. That person is to take Flat Stanley on adventures - hopefully related to their geographic location - take his photo at these adventures, and mail him back with pictures, postcards, and a story about his trip. My brother was the chosen receiver, the Golden Child as it were, for Luke's Flat Stanley. David, who looks for any excuse to be silly and fun, took Flat Stanley to his state park etc. But, Flat Stan's most INTERESTING journey was to Sopchoppy Florida for their 8th annual Worm Gruntin' Festival. I am quite sure Luke will be the ONLY child with a story like this. :) If you don't know what Worm Gruntin' is - you can youtube or Google it. But, I can save your the suspense and tell you this much: think snake charmer, pied piper, dog whisperer of...yes, WORMS. It is a celebration like no other - of bringing worms to the earth's surface and having a party for it!
